This pan-midwestern band has just released its first full-length, Raydoncong (Cold Crush), and goddamn there's a lot here to love. They've redoubled the wild inventiveness of their debut EP, Machinegong, goosing their grimy, arty punk-funk seemingly at random with sounds from disco, techno, Afrobeat, synth-pop, dub, and God knows what else. And the huge, thrilling junkyard beats--from the impossibly frenetic faux-ethnic chatter of "The Rrabbitt" to the ten-ton monolithic stomp of "Hot Lava"--often sound genuinely shamanic, not just plain ol' "tribal." Rotten Milk vs. Bubblegum Shitface and the Chandeliers open. Sat 4/2, 10 PM, Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western, 773-276-3600 or 800-594-8499, $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
