When: Feb. 13-22 2009
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ exhibition on the Oscars comes to Chicago for the first time this year. Fans can hold and have their pictures taken with a real statuette—manufactured, as all Academy statuettes have been since 1982, by Chicago’s R.S. Owens & Company. There’s also a display of Oscars in various stages of completion, the statuette that Clark Gable won in 1934 for It Happened One Night, and six Oscars that will be presented in next year’s ceremony.
