Indian-American character actor Ravi Patel stars in this documentary about his loving but neurotic relationship with his immigrant parents. They want him to marry according to family custom, setting him up with a woman who also has the last name Patel; he wants to please them but still carries the torch for his white ex-girlfriend, whom he never found the confidence to mention to his parents. This contains some insightful (and sometimes funny) discussions about being a first-generation American torn between tradition and assimilation; less interesting are the scenes of Patel courting his prospective brides, which play like reality TV. Patel and his sister, Geeta, directed. In English and subtitled Gujarati.
