Old-fashioned in the worst sense, this 2011 sex farce from the Czech Republic perpetuates disgusting notions of male privilege along with the worn-out genre conventions. Jiri Machacek, a regular of Jan Hrebejk's films, plays an unhappily married chef who follows the advice of his womanizing father-in-law and takes a young mistress. Improbably, having an affair rekindles his desire for his wife and inspires him to create new recipes to boot. Infidelity is just fine, implies writer-director Jiri Vejdelek, so long as you don't tell your spouse about it; if you don't find that offensive, you might enjoy some of the jokes or charismatic performances. In Czech with subtitles.
