The fledgling Metronome Celebration, now in its second year, returns to Logan Square—specifically the quarter-mile stretch of Milwaukee between Armitage and Rockwell—this Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13. The festival's two stages of music have different themes each day: the north stage will present Latin rock on Saturday (booked by the Congress Theater) and folk on Sunday (booked by the Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival), while the south stage will present indie rock on Saturday (booked by the Empty Bottle) and punk on Sunday (booked by MP Productions). Saturday's lineups include sets by Split Lip Rayfield, Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, Alejandro Marcovich, Making Movies, the Pack A.D., and Chandeliers, while Sunday's include Akron/Family, Pegboy, Deal's Gone Bad, the Arrivals, and Van Ghost. The festival also offers food from local restaurants, a kids' zone called School's Out Forever, and vendors hawking arts, crafts, jewelry, and more. Admission is a $5 suggested donation, and proceeds benefit the Logan Square Neighborhood Coalition, which will divvy the money up between the Greater Goethe Neighborhood Association, the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Goethe School, and Chase Elementary.
