Metronome Celebration Member Picks Early Warnings (Music)

When: June 6-7 2009

Held this Saturday and Sunday on Milwaukee between Armitage and Rockwell, the Metronome Celebration features the usual street-fair combo of food, arts and crafts, and other vendors, plus three stages of music each day. The performers on the local stage, which runs both days, include Chicago bands like Simple Simon and the Handcuffs as well as Latin pop singer Amandititita. On Saturday the electronic stage, booked by the Congress Theater, presents Future Rock, Eliot Lipp, and more; the Empty Bottle’s bookings on the rock stage include John Vanderslice, Here We Go Magic, and Kid Congo Powers (see the List). On Sunday the folk stage, booked by Chicago Bluegrass and Blues, presents Justin Townes Earle, Ezra Furman & the Harpoons, and others; offerings on the MP Shows punk stage include Deal’s Gone Bad and the Methadones. Music begins each day at noon, and admission is a $5 suggested donation, which benefits the Logan Square Neighborhood Coalition.
