When: Sat., Sept. 13 2014

This weekend commemorates Mexico's independence from Spain with more festivities than you'll be able to handle. One of the largest celebrations, Festival de La Villita, is going strong today at 26th and Kostner, with carnival rides and international music and tamales (2-11 PM). Or check out some Mexican Independence Day parades: today in Pilsen (noon, Newberry & 18th), or tomorrow on 26th Street (noon, 26th Street from Albany to Kostner) and in South Chicago (2 PM, Commercial Avenue from 87th to 100th).
