To the editors:

I am familiar with Achy Obejas's work and until now have admired it.

I find it unfortunate and disturbing that she chose the calendar section of the Reader to editorialize on the difficult and tragic situation between Israel and the Palestinians. (February 5 listing for Shalom '88.)

Please, in the future, keep us informed about the events, but save the political opinions for the other sections of the paper.
