Miss Minoes | Chicago Reader

Miss Minoes

In this cute 2001 children's feature from the Netherlands, the title cat magically transforms into a woman (Carice von Houten, later of Paul Verhoeven's Black Book) and assists a beat reporter with his field research. The filmmakers imagine the heroine with knowing feline detail: Miss Minoes might be great at snooping for information, but she also hisses at strangers and skips out on her responsibilities in order to eat fish. Vincent Bal directed.
