If you want to pay 50, almost 60 bucks to see cats do what they do anyhow--sit still, run, jump out of containers, and bat at annoying humans--then this is the show for you. I was hoping someone would be herding cats, but no. Perhaps 10 minutes of this 75-minute performance feature impressive feline tricks, navigating miniature parallel bars or balancing on two front paws. The rest of the time the cats behave in pretty ordinary fashion. A cute dog briefly exhibits somewhat greater cooperative skills, but most of the piece is devoted to clown routines suitable for five-year-olds and assault by a horrendous soundtrack of "circus" tunes. --Laura Molzahn a 12/26-12/30: Tue-Fri 3 and 7 PM, Sat noon, 3, and 6 PM, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie, 847-673-6300, $49.90-$56.90.
