Home to Mad Mouse, a so-called "nanobrewery," Moxee Restaurant serves a menu of nicely done southern staples.
The beers being brewed by Mad Mouse Brewery inside Moxee Restaurant are fairly unremarkable, but they pair well with food—which is important since the restaurant's food is remarkable. They're serving up all-American fare like sandwiches and salads, with a focus on barbecue and Cajun/Creole dishes. It's an extensive menu, which tends to be a bad sign, but nearly everything we ordered turned out to be excellent. Baby back ribs were tender but not mushy, nicely seasoned and smoky, and they're served with unbelievably flavorful polenta fries, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The single disappointment was dessert, a chocolate bourbon pecan pie with an oddly spongy and chewy crust. If you want to be safe, just order a cocktail after your meal.
