No less than seven screenwriters—including the subsequently blacklisted Adrian Scott and an uncredited Charles Brackett and Dudley Nichols—worked on this popular 1943 romantic comedy with Cary Grant and Laraine Day that eventually inspired a short-lived sitcom. Grant plays a gambling boat owner who plans to cheat Day, then falls for her; with Charles Bickford and Paul Stewart. H.C. Potter directed.
