George Bernard Shaw's 1893 play (first performed in 1902) concerns Vivie Warren, a young liberated woman who discovers that her mother, whose wealth supports her lifestyle, made her fortune in prostitution. Promethean Theatre Ensemble's adaptation by Melanie Spewock, directed by Michael D. Graham, promises a streamlined and "woman-centric" take on the original.
