Music and Meditations for the Longest Night Member Picks

When: Sun., Dec. 20, 8 p.m. 2009

Find a refuge from the season of long nights, cold weather, and omnipresent holiday kitsch at Wicker Park's service of Music and Meditations for the Longest Night. We will hear the story of the nativity from the Gospel of Luke, reflections from W.H. Auden, and songs by Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Bob Dylan (among others). Lyle Harlow, Greg Bueltmann, Leland Wilkinson, Pastor Ben, and the Chicago Vocal Authority will be performing. No carols, no singing, no obligatory holiday cheer--just a time to reflect, regroup, and feel human again. Everyone is welcome!
