Last week was our first time here. My friend told me about it. I didn't even know what movie was playing until I heard people talking on the Blue Line. I'd never seen Some Like It Hot before. I just can't help but wonder if the women of our day would be so forgiving of Tony Curtis's antics; he really pulled Marilyn's strings. Last week we weren't really prepared. But as luck would have it the people next to us were celebrating a birthday, so we got a piece of cake. I was stunned when I realized how many people were here. I couldn't see the end of the crowd--there were literally thousands of people. People were wonderful during the movie--no talking--just laughing and absolutely enjoying it. Someone asked somebody to move, and they did. I thought wow, how surprising--I was surprised that somebody actually asked and pleasantly surprised that they gladly moved. We're definitely more prepared tonight for Dr. Strangelove. We have a picnic basket with wine, crackers, cheese, and a citronella candle, and we got here earlier. Terry Gilliam is somebody I love--maybe next year they'll show Brazil and Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Fisher King and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and Twelve Monkeys.
