Nights of the Blue Rider

This multidisciplinary performing arts festival, hosted by the Pilsen area's Blue Rider Theatre, runs through December 17, with shows most Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 7 PM, as well as children's matinees on selected Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM. Most evenings feature two or more artists, with intermissions between each act. Blue Rider Theatre, 1822 S. Halsted, 733-4668. Tickets: $10 a night except where noted in the listings below; $60 for a festival pass (good for all performances).

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13

Fieldworks

The Field Chicago presents two separate evenings of interdisciplinary performance pieces. Tonight's show features Judith Harding, Ruth Klotzer, Lauri Macklin, and John Randle. 8 PM.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14

Fieldworks

The Field Chicago presentation continues with The Crone by Nana Shineflug and works by Joseph Fusco, Janet Skidmore Harpole, Durango Mendoza, Drew Richardson, and Michele White. 8 PM.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15

Trio Troppo and The Memory Palace of Matteo Ricci

The first half of this double bill is a musical trio featuring bass clarinetist Gene Coleman, percussionist Michael Zerang, and cellist Fredrick Lonberg-Helm; the second work is Pablo Helguera's performance piece exploring "how we learn, remember, and understand reality" using film, opera, and props. 7 PM.
