To the editors:

In the article by John Conroy on Larry Eyler (July 31) my name is cited with the notation "forensic pathologist." While it is true that I was consulted on this case, it is not true that I am a board certified forensic pathologist. I have studied the pathology of diseases and causes of death for 35 years, but I do not claim to be, nor hold myself out to be, a forensic pathologist. When consulted on legal cases, I make it a point to emphasize this. Unfortunately this disclaimer of mine got lost and I am erroneously cited as a forensic pathologist.
