Notes for a People's Atlas Recommended Free Agenda

When: Thu., Nov. 10 2011

Tonight the local magazine whose description forms its name—"art, research, education, and activism," or AREA Chicago—rolls out Notes for a People's Atlas, a project it's been working on since 2005. The book's editors asked citizens to create maps that highlighted what they thought was important about the cities they lived in; those are collected here, accompanied by commentary on art and urban living. The mapping project started in Chicago but spread as far afield as Zagreb, Croatia, and Valparaiso, Chile. —Sam Worley
