The ensemble behind this politically themed sketch/improv show are very good at what they do—there's no doubt about that. They've got fantastic timing and energy and demonstrate quick wits in the improv bits. But like a polished chef hired to design menu items for the Cheesecake Factory, their talents are being wasted on a production that's both generic and, at two and a half hours, excessive. With all that time to fill, they resort to tepid filler playing off of broad political stereotypes. And about a quarter of it, I'm told, comes from the Second City archives. At the matinee I attended, most of the audience seemed to be tourists, so maybe the show is targeted to their palates and appetites. —Keith Griffith
