Outrage

Muckraking documentary maker Kirby Dick (This Film Is Not Yet Rated) takes it upon himself to out closeted gay conservatives in this passionate, engaging, but sometimes irresponsible exposé. If you don't object to people having their sexual privacy stripped away in the most humiliating fashion, or you're persuaded by Dick's argument that voters have a right to know about politicians who kill gay-rights legislation but are active homosexuals themselves, you'll probably find this a righteous effort. But even that argument obscures the real problem with Outrage: Dick's willingness to indulge in gossip and innuendo. R, 90 min.
