Paramount on Parade

With the arrival of sound, every major studio made a revue film to advertise its new talking stars; this is the Paramount version, and it features turns by Maurice Chevalier, Ruth Chatterton, Helen Kane, Clara Bow, Nancy Carroll, William Powell, and a dozen others. In the early days of the talkies, it was the habit to make simultaneous foreign-language versions of films rather than dub them, and Paramount on Parade probably holds the record for the number of times it was shot: it was produced in French, Italian, German, Czechoslovakian, Polish, Hungarian, Rumanian, Swedish, Danish, and Japanese (1930).
