Paris vu par . . . (Six in Paris)

Probably the best of the anthology films that were briefly in vogue in the early 60s, this compilation features four good sketches by Jean-Luc Godard, Jean Rouch, Eric Rohmer, and Claude Chabrol, and only two turkeys (by Jean Douchet and Jean-Daniel Pollet). Rohmer's contribution is the finest, a witty Hitchcockian essay on the metaphysical dangers inherent in crossing the 12-avenue intersection at the Place de l'Etoile.
