Part Project Recommended Agenda

When: Wed., Nov. 30 2011

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, local bicycle-component powerhouse SRAM recruited 50 artists (six of them Chicagoans) to contort, weld, and mash anywhere from 25 to 100 bike parts together to create their own fantastical sculptures and creations. The results of PART PROJECT range from a mutated bike helmet appropriately titled "Samurai Bike Helmet" to a killer starting-line piece called "The Sprinter" to "Modern Grandma," which can't be done justice through words. The works will be displayed in a juried exhibition and live auction to benefit the not-for-proft World Bicycle Relief. Check out the rest of the impressive mix of pieces at —Kevin Warwick

Price: $134 (the cost of getting a bicycle to a person in sub-Saharan Africa)
