Party Lobster Closing (Theater and Galleries) Member Picks The Short List (Theater)

When: Fridays. Continues through June 12 2009

Kyle More performs his own, new, one-man comedy about a recovering drug addict who makes his living by putting on a lobster costume and entertaining children at birthday parties (motto: "Who needs a PlayStation when you've got a crustacean?"). On the day we meet Party Lobster, he's expected to perform--and to maintain his sobriety--even though his mother has just died, his girlfriend has just left him, and his nemesis, Gary the Magician, has just been named kids' entertainer of the year. The meltdown isn't as funny as the buildup, probably because More drags it out and indulges in too many direct addresses to the audience. Still, he's got the whole man-child-on-the-verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown thing down pat. --Zac Thompson
