Patton Oswalt Member Picks The Short List (Theater) Recommended Image

When: Sat., May 31 2014

Patton Oswalt is a tireless advocate of the burgeoning "alternative" comedy movement. One of a handful of comedy acts on indie label Sub Pop, he masterminded 2005's Comedians of Comedy Tour, which played at rock venues. Called the "funnyman's funnyman" by Jimmy Kimmel, Oswalt can be relentless: [in 2006] he grossed out Conan O'Brien with a bit about a 67-year-old woman giving birth, which he likened to "pushing an uncooked Cornish game hen through gray drapes." —Ryan Hubbard, 2007
