Pend - Julia Rae Antonick

When: Fri., May 29, 8 p.m. and Sat., May 30, 8 p.m. 2009

Chicago-based choreographer Julia Rae Antonick joins forces with guest dance artists Katie McCaughan and Precious Jennings to present PEND, a dance performance project created with live musical composition by Joseph St. Charles. With PEND, Julia Rae Antonick offers a rabbit-hole into a realm peopled by drifting arms, articulating fingers, snaking spines and yearning feet. This continually evolving work derives its material from an investment in process, presence and a deep investigation into the nature of improvisation. PEND invites and permits the audience to leave chatter and time at the door, slip down behind their cognitive mind and participate in an unfolding, imaginative world. PEND offers a communal wandering and collective discovery in a constantly shifting landscape of movement, image and sound. May 29th & 30th @ 8pm United Church of Rogers Park 1545 W. Morse Ave., Chicago Il, 60626 $10-$12 or free in trade for volunteer help. For information: pend2009@gmail.com
