October 24, 10:15 PM, 1100 block of West 54th Street. Attempted robbery by two men and attack dog. The men instructed the dog to "get 'im," indicating the victim. One man beat victim with a stick, the other with his hands. Suspects were trying to steal victim's collection of aluminum cans.

October 31, 7:10 PM, 10700 block of South Hoyne. Robbery. Man hiding in bushes jumped out and scared a ten-year-old trick-or-treater, grabbed child's bag of Halloween candy, and fled.

November 6, 4:30 PM, 500 block of West 103rd Street. Robbery. Man in wheelchair stole a gold chain from a teenager at gunpoint and wheeled away. Suspect is known in the neighborhood--and to the victim--as "Squeaky." Victim told police where Squeaky lives and suspect was arrested.

November 7, 2 AM, 7100 block of North Sheridan. Attempted burglary. Two men arrested attempting to steal a box of batteries, film, and toiletries from a convenience-store storage shed. Police saw burglary in progress as they were ticketing the suspects' car, which was double-parked.
