Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is: (a) the greatest movie title since Snakes on a Plane and (b) the worst movie with a great title since Snakes on a Plane. Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the best-selling source novel—or rather, Jane Austen wrote it, and he punched up her public-domain text, turning Mr. Darcy into a fearless zombie hunter and the Bennet sisters into ninja warriors. This big-screen adaptation, incongruously mixing well-upholstered period drama and graphic gore, is amusing for about five minutes, after which you're in for an awfully long haul. Burr Steers directed; with Lily James, Sam Riley, and Lena Headey.
