Calling his the last remaining sideshow act west of Coney Island, Thom Britton offers superhuman feats minus the schtick. This one-hour performance is part historical overview and part autobiography, with some delightfully cringe-worthy moments. Whether Britton is swallowing fire or facedown in broken glass, his love and respect for freaky tradition is as palpable as the meat thermometer he apparently bores into his skull. Guest artist Samuel Rose is electrifying, using his high-voltage body to set fires and power burned-out lightbulbs. Though Britton has traded classic sideshow glitz for a lab coat and a personable demeanor, he succeeds in shocking. --Marissa Oberlander
