Patricia Kane's stylized depiction of five women who work at a fictional 1950s lesbian bar owes at least as much to Barbara Stanwyck's sexy, steely film persona as it does to its ostensible subject, mid-20th-century lesbian pulp fiction. David Cerda's recent Caged Dames actually did a better job of capturing the form's fundamental luridness. But Kane has an excellent ear for hard-boiled dialogue, and in Jessica Thebus's stylish remount of About Face Theatre's 2004 production (including some new material), the performances are flawless. Especially good are Nancy Walker lookalike Hanna Dworkin as the perky dyke next door and Amy Warren as the unflappable ice princess who owns the club. --Zac Thompson a Through 5/27: Wed-Fri 7:30 PM, Sat 5:30 and 9 PM, Sun 2:30 PM, no show Thu 5/17, Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater, 2257 N.
