Rachmaninoff, Puccini and Wagner

The Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Francesco Milioto welcome you to the second concert in its 49th season on December 12. Kate Liu, winner of the 30th Young Artist Competition will perform the lyrical and romantic Piano Concerto No. 2 by Rachmaninoff. The concert will also feature a semi-staged version of Act III of Puccini’s passionate and heart-rending La Bohème. Completing the program will be Wagner’s Overture to Rienzi and the Intermezzo from Act III of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut. It will be an afternoon of dazzling orchestral and vocal works. Pre-concert lecture at 1:45pm.
