Rambo III | Chicago Reader

Rambo III

Reportedly the costliest movie ever made, at least when it came out in 1988. Sylvester Stallone is living peacefully in Thailand and meditating in a Buddhist retreat when his friend and guru Richard Crenna is kidnapped by the Russians and held captive in Afghanistan, so it's peace-loving Rambo to the rescue. Former cinematographer Peter Macdonald directs; the script is by Stallone and Sheldon Lettich. R, 101 min.
