Reader to Reader

A half dozen people were waiting to get into the phone payment center at 55th and Wabash.

"Yeah," said an elderly man in front of me, "Sammy Davis Jr. is still alive. I saw him the other day."

"Oh," answered a surprised security guard. "So he's like Elvis?"

"It was him. I'm sure of it."

"Well, I saw Elvis in the post office just last week," said the security guard. "On a stamp."

"You can make fun if you want," replied the elderly gent, "but I know Sammy Davis Jr. when I see him."

"Maybe you were looking at Michael Jordan's father. Everyone knows he's still alive."

"You got that right."
