Ready-Made Foie Gras

Hey,

I've got an idea for those foie gras lovers out there ["The Final Days of Foie Gras," Section 2, May 5]. Instead of banning it, how about making some use out of those thousands of Canada geese that never seem to migrate and make a mess of lawns, lagoons, and retention ponds? I think the ban on hunting them was lifted a while ago, wasn't it? Besides, they seem to be a pretty hearty lot, and their livers are probably enlarged without the cruelty of force-feeding. It can be a seasonal thing, and the rest of the meat can be cooked to feed the city's homeless.
