Paroled early thanks to Mafia connections, a convicted counterfeiter hits the streets of New York City; he hopes to reclaim an engraved plate for $100 bills so he can repay his mob benefactors with funny money and go home to the Dominican Republic, but his double-crossing ex-partners won't tell him where it is. Albert Xavier's 2003 crime drama strives to be gritty, but it has a holding pattern for a plot and the tough-guy dialogue bears the awkward, repetitive stamp of amateur improvisation. The editing is pretty good for such a modestly budgeted film. In English and subtitled Spanish. 93 min.
