To the editors:
The same old anti-Semitic rhetoric about Jewish fascists and "Zionist propaganda" makes it very difficult to believe that the cowardly "Name withheld" is, in fact, Jewish, much less a "child of the Holocaust" [Letters, August 3]. Or else the anonymous letter writer, filled with so much hate, is him or herself a self-hating Jew, a real pity.
The quotations from Minister Farrakhan point to the more likely source of such a venomous attack on Jews.
I wish the Reader would make more of an attempt to verify the author of a letter to the editor and perhaps invite a reply when such outlandish letters as those by "Name withheld" are written. We need less mud slung around.
That would be responsible journalism.
