To the editors:
In his column of September 27, "Days of Rose's Whining," Bill Wyman says that the new Guns n' Roses albums are mostly crap. I mostly believe him.
Reviewing a selection from the musical category called "Rock" is like picking a large lump out of a manure pile and discovering that it smells and feels like a piece of shit. Of course it does. The fact that its odor and texture may differ slightly from other lumps in the pile hardly makes it worth examining.
Why do so many periodicals hire reviewers who attempt to treat "Rock" as if it were some legitimate art form instead of the manure that it is? Undoubtedly, Use Your Illusion I and II are crap. Guns n' Roses is crap. And "Rock" is crap. Bill Wyman's column is a waste of time and newsprint. How about replacing it with a couple of pages of stuff worth reading?
