Roctober Magazine Release Party

Roctober Magazine celebrates issue 46, whose cover package is an exploration of truck-driving music of the 60s and 70s, featuring stories about Red Sovine, Dave Dudley, and Red Simpson as well as interviews with Joe Stampley and Jerry Reed. The issue also includes an “expanded version” of “Soul Train Local,” a story by Roctober editor Jake Austen that ran in the Reader last fall and a “bonus full-length underground comics anthology.” The first 50 guests get a cassette compilation (digital download card included) of truck driving classics and originals by Roctober contributors like Velcro Lewis and Gentleman John Battles. Some contributors will perform, Lawrence Peters DJs, and there’ll be “truckin’ karaoke.”
