Same Sex America

In this 2005 video documentary Henry Corra follows a half-dozen stouthearted gay and lesbian couples as they fight to become legally wed in Massachusetts. After the state supreme court ruled that denying marriage licenses to homosexuals was discriminatory, the religious right quickly mobilized to lobby for an amendment to the state constitution prohibiting such unions. Corra declines to demonize opponents of same-sex marriage, crafting a light but nonetheless welcome refresher course in the democratic process. 90 min.
