Samson | Chicago Reader

A 1961 film by Andrzej Wajda, the story of a Polish Jew's encounters with prewar anti-Semitism, fascism, ghetto life, and fate. Wajda's early films (Ashes and Diamonds, Kanal) generally concern shapeless social forces pressing upon the individual; I'm told that this one has some psychological depth as well.
