Scumbag Millionaires Member Picks

When: Fridays. Continues through March 6 2009

This sketch revue doesn't parody Slumdog Millionaire--but, like the movie, it includes several scenes depicting a fictional edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? In this one, contestants respond to the question "How will you survive the downturn?" One guy playing Citigroup's CEO is, of course, a jerk, and that's the extent of the evening's political satire. The other bits--roommates struggling to move a love seat, an awkward Thanksgiving gathering, CTA riders outed over the intercom--don't conform to any particular theme, and they're pretty funny, with some slapstick, tap dancing, and improv thrown in. Brendan Kelly is terrific as a foulmouthed father viciously forcing his son out of bed so the family won't be late for church. --Ryan Hubbard
