I am enclosing an illustration from the week of July 18 that appeared in the movie listings section of your paper.

It is entitled, "How to Make Love to a Woman" and, as you can see, it depicts a cartoon character of a person (presumably a woman) being poked in the eye so brutally it draws a large teardrop of blood and an agonized expression of pain. As this is a promotion for Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation, I will assume that your editorial expertise motivated you to choose this graphic assault for shock value. On one hand, I thank you for the warning since I would never attend a film showing something like this. On the other hand, it is so offensive that I have to ask, How can you do it?

Otherwise, thanks for a terrific periodical (in general) and good luck in the future in maintaining an enlightened perspective and presentation of mass opinion and (artistic?) expression in a format that is as sensitive as possible to your readers.

PS: I am not closed-minded, but this one really touched a nerve. What an eyesore! Ouch.
