Seeking art at bargain prices!!! Up to 90% Off!!! All art under $200, all sales go directly to the artist. Seeking Art Bargain Basement is an experimental art space located in the storefront window at Co-Prosperity Sphere. The grand opening is on Nov.20th alongside the Select Media Festival. Open Saturdays from 1 to 6 or by appointment (call Ed Marzewski 773-837-0145). Department stores first used bargain basements in 1909 to sell surplus goods at discounted prices. They cleared the way for new products, catered to the consumer's desire to acquire items for less than their worth, and allowed lower-income shoppers to participate in the trendy new world of mass-produced goods. In celebration of the 100th anniversary, Seeking Art is applying the same economic and psychological principals to the art market, uniting the work of more than 40 artists with shoppers seeking affordable art.
