Shakesploitation II: Iambic Boogaloo!

In New Millennium Theatre Company's late-night show of Shakespeare parodies, Richard III is the villain in a grisly teen slasher flick, Romeo and Juliet perform an R. Kelly-style hip-hopera, and Kate and Petruchio star in a seedy 1970s porno, The Taming of the Screw. Writer-director Andy Grigg, who's set himself the task of spoofing both Shakespeare and trashy films, sometimes neglects the former in favor of the latter. Still, the show is awfully funny: sharp, irreverent, and performed by a likable cast well versed in the conventions of bad movies. Through 9/23: Fri-Sat 10 PM, National Pastime Theater, 4139 N. Broadway, 773-989-4515, $10-$15.
