The Public Square and UIC's Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy kick off this new discussion series on race, ethnicity, and public policy issues with Beth Richie, professor of criminal justice and African-American studies at UIC and author of the new book, Compelled to Crime: The Gender Entrapment of Battered Black Women. Future meetings will take place every last Friday of the month.
