Sketchbook Reverb The Short List (Theater) Closing (Theater and Galleries)

When: Thursdays-Sundays. Continues through March 27 2011

Collaboraction inaugurates its new Wicker Park digs with an eight-piece sampler platter of short plays culled from ten years worth of entries in the company's annual Sketchbook Festival. The material is heavy on pieces about romantic complications. Ira Gamerman's Dated: A Cautionary Tale for Facebook Users is way past its sell-by date, but Drew Dir's The Lurker Radio Hour is as poignant and hilarious as I remember from its 2008 debut. Other highlights: Lisa Dillman's My Yeti Dreams, in which a woman falls for a Sasquatch only to balk when he wants to go metrosexual, and Stephen Cone's I'll Never Tell You, in which a man confesses his history of infidelity to his dead wife's corpse. Both feature the marvelous H.B. Ward. --Kerry Reid
