Sloppy Seconds, Hairlips, She Likes Todd, Uglybones, Fornication Station 17+ Early Warnings (Music) Member Picks Recommended Soundboard

When: Sun., March 18, 8 p.m. 2012

The sneering early 90s pop-punk brought to you by Ben Weasel, Joey Vindictive, and Joe Queer followed the ageless Ramones blueprint—this is a known fact that neither the musicians nor their leather-jacketed audiences would dare deny. Sloppy Seconds head honcho and Vindictive soundalike B.A. is firmly on board with this "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" approach, but he smears enough grime, snot, and silliness on its three-chord anthems to deform them into his own incredible abomination. Like the band's name, tracks like "I Don't Wanna Be a Homosexual" and "So Fucked Up" (both from 1989's Destroyed) are harmless, dopey fun—I figure a big part of the reason Sloppy Seconds have lasted nearly 30 years is that they refuse to take themselves too seriously. —Kevin Warwick The Hairlips, She Likes Todd, Uglybones, and Fornication Station open.
