Sky Ferreira is a 21-year-old singer-slash-model who’s been bouncing around the major-label machine since she was 15. And over the course of album delay after album delay, she’s grown from a teenybopper with ambitions of becoming the next Britney Spears into a hipster chanteuse who casually drops Krautrock references and collaborates with the likes of Cass McCombs and Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange). Last year’s Ghost EP produced the breakout single “Everything Is Embarrassing,” which helped prove that she can apply her talents to more than just image. Her new debut full-length, Night Time, My Time (Capitol), is stronger yet, as well as more ambitious—“Nobody Asked Me (If I Was Okay)” gives radio pop a grungy makeover, “Omanko” cribs heavily from Suicide, and album opener “Boys” sounds like a Best Coast record produced by Trent Reznor. —Miles Raymer Smith Westerns headline; Sky Ferreira and Fatal Jamz open.
