Spaceman | Chicago Reader

Scott Dikkers, editor in chief of the Onion, shows promise as a writer-director with this wry exploitation movie about a decorously violent guy raised in outer space who feels ill suited for his job in a grocery store and wants to find a murder-for-hire position. But the conceits of this story, whose characters include autopsy-happy FBI agents and a woman whose romantic interest in the spaceman is cleverly motivated by sexist ideology, are too obvious to sustain a feature—watching it is like hearing a good joke over and over again. With David Ghilardi, Deborah King, Brian Stack, Jay Rath, John Hildreth, Richard Somers, and Anthony Marquez.
