Produced for British public television, this documentary soberly and concisely explains the atrocities committed in 2008 and '09 during the final months of Sri Lanka's civil war. Though the video is expressly sympathetic to the civilians killed—at least 40,000 by official estimates, and probably many more—it's careful not to depict either government forces or the secessionist Tamil Tigers as the chief aggressors. Any outrage expressed in the documentary is directed toward the United Nations for failing to respond to the crisis with a thorough investigation of war crimes. Callum MacRae produced and directed. In English and subtitled Tamil and Sinhala.
